The 1st Cross-Border Meeting of Architecture Schools San Diego -Tijuana:, held October 2-6, 2023, was the inaugural event organized by the Transborder Association for Architectural Education (TAAE). This week-long gathering, aligned with Architecture Week, featured a series of workshops, panel discussions and site visits throughout the San Diego-Tijuana region, beginning in Tijuana and concluding in San Diego. The meeting served as a pilot for future collaborations and laid the groundwork for cross-border educational synergy.
Three key issues guided the discussions: the role of universities in architectural education, the challenges facing the border region, and the future of architectural education in this unique context.
